Super-interesting Article on “Political Correctness”

My thing about “political correctness” is that it’s not a constraint on free speech at all.  It’s simply acting civilized.  When somebody who is a particular thing asks you to refer to them a certain way, that’s just being civilized to accommodate them.  When people say “I hate all this political correctness”, I like to replace “political correct” with “being respectful”.  And then people just sound like dicks for saying “I hate all this being respectful”.
